Next Session: Tuesday February 4th 7:30pm
We meet at Groundlings Theatre (42 Kent St, Portsmouth, PO1 3BS) on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:30pm, with a pile of scripts and a bevy of actors (and usually a beer in hand)
Step One: Playwrights WRITE
Anyone can bring in a script they’ve written which can be performed in eight minutes or less
Step 2: Actors PLAY
Performers are randomly selected from a hat (Female/Any Gender/Male) as per the playwright’s casting requirements
Step 3: MAGIC
After a couple of minutes with the playwright, the actors put the scene on its feet! We perform nine total scripts and take a break after every three performances.
Step 4: The Play is the Thing: SHOWBAIT SHOWCASE!
Every month, attendees vote on a script that will be performed at the End of Year Showcase- wherein 10 scripts will be fully rehearsed, teched, and staged at Groundlings
